T1W7 Reading.

For our reading this week we had to find the main idea of a story or video and also learn how to find the main idea of a story/video.

A Silly Story

                                              One fine day, Stan decided to visit his

                               Old friend Bill. Bill lived right at the

                               Top of a very steep hill, and it took

                               Stan a good hour to walk up the 

                              Winding track to Bill’s house.

                                  The two old men hadn’t seen each

                       Other for a long time, so they spent a 

                  Pleasant afternoon talking about the good old

days . They were so busy telling stories and drinking tea that neither of them noticed that the weather had changed.

      Suddenly the room turned dark. The sky had filled with black, stormy clouds, and big drops of rain were starting to

Fall. There was a loud boom of thunder and a flash of

lighting .

    “There’s going to be a terrible storm,” said Bill, and 

Stan agreed.

      The wind howled, and the thunder roared.

     “That steep path will be slippery and dangerous in this

Weather,” said Bill. “ You’ll have to stay the night, Stan.”

  “Yes,” agreed Stan, and he immediately ran out into the rain and disappeared down the hill.

     “Stop!” shouted Bill after him.  “You’ll get wet.”

    But all he could hear was the wind howling around the

House.

   Much later, Stan returned. He was tired, wet, and cold,

And his clothes were covered in mud.

       “I thought you were going to stay here for the night,”

Said Bill.

     “I am,” said Stan, “I am.  But I had to go home for my 

Toothbrush.” Five minutes later they noticed that the weather had changed. It went from a dark sky and grey clouds to bright blue sky and little white fluffy clouds. ‘‘ I’ll be right back’’ Said Stan. ‘‘ WAIT!! ’’  Yelled Bill, where are you going? By the time Stan came back it was night time ‘‘ Sorry I had to pack my pj’s, spare clothes for tomorrow and get out of my muddy clothes’’. ‘‘Lets go to sleep Stan’’ Said Bill, ‘‘ Okay’’ Said Stan.  ‘‘Wait I forgot my toothpaste’’ Said Stan as he ran off down the hill. 10 minutes later stan returned with his toothpaste ‘‘ I'm back’’ said stan. ‘‘Lets go brush our teeth and get our pj’s on’’ Said Bill.
